Ibanda District is in high gear ahead of President Yoweri Museveni’s campaign stop on November 29, 2025, with local leaders saying residents expect him to address infrastructure, agriculture, corruption, and long-standing pledges as enthusiasm builds across the area.

Preparations are in full swing in Ibanda District as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to hold his campaign rally in the area.

According to the Electoral Commission’s campaign roadmap, the President will on Saturday, November 29, 2025, address supporters in Ibanda as part of his tour of the Ankole Sub-Region.

As one approaches Ibanda Town, the excitement is unmistakable. Roadsides are lined with bright yellow banners and posters of Museveni, creating a festive atmosphere ahead of the visit.

By press time, the road leading to the campaign venue was being watered to reduce dust, with a water bowser steadily sprinkling the area.

Ibanda District Chairperson Happy Herbert Mayanja confirmed that all preparations are well underway to welcome the President.

“We are fully set to receive the President. Preparations at St. George’s Demonstration Primary School grounds are ongoing, and the public is eagerly waiting to welcome him in large numbers. The mood here is extremely high,” Mayanja said.

He added that several key issues are on the minds of residents ahead of the rally.

“The tarmacking of the Ibanda–Kagongo–Kitagwenda Road, unfulfilled presidential pledges, corruption, and farming are among the issues people expect the President to address,” he noted.

Museveni’s visit is expected to draw massive crowds as supporters and local leaders anticipate his message to the people of Ibanda.
